The main strength of Indian cricket team is their batsmen- we have sheard that sentence so many times that it has become a cliché. However, in the current test series between Sri Lanka and India, it is the Indian bowlers who are at top. They have ensured that India could win the ODI series even before the 5th ODI. Tomorrow, the 5th ODI is going to take place and you can watch it live in Ten Sports if you are in Asia. The question is that will the batsmen be able to perform tomorrow.

The Hindu wrote:

The lone worry stems from the poor form of Gautam Gambhir, Yuvraj Singh and Rohit Sharma and the team hopes they too would join the party on Friday.

Though an inconsequential match allows the think-tank to tinker with the team combination, the off-colour players are expected to figure in the playing XI in an effort to help them wriggle out of their bad patch.

Well, it is very important for the batsmen to do well because India is supposed to play against Australia soon.

Indian fast bowler, Munaf Patel has been fined for passing offensive comments on umpire, Gamini Silva. During the second ODI match between Sri Lanka and India on August 20th at Dambulla, Sri Lanka, the player appealed for lbw against Sri Lankan batsman, Nuwan Kulasekara, which was turned down by the officials. This resulted into an argument between Munaf Patel and Gamini Silva.

After the match was finished, the Indian fast bowler was found guilty of a Level 2 offence at a hearing conducted by match referee, Chris Broad, and fined 75% of his match fee for the breach of ICC Code of Conduct. Broad said:

“I accept that in international cricket there is a lot of passion but that does not excuse players talking back to umpires in an aggressive manner, as happened in this case,” Broad said. “That is unacceptable and I hope this decision and the fine imposed demonstrates that fact.”

Though Munaf Patel pleaded not guilty, he admitted of speaking aggressively to the umpire. The Indian team did not disclose Munaf’s match fee.
