India vs Australia Test Series 2008: Harbhajan Singh to Appear with Same Fighting Spirit

Indian off spinner Harbhajan Singh has said that he will face the Australians in the upcoming test series with the same fighting spirit that he has been showing so far in his career. Harbhajan Singh has also said that he will go to the field to win, not to make friends. The spinner wants to win every game he plays for India because his religion ‘Sikh’ teaches to be warrior and winner.

Indicating the racism row he got involved with Australian all rounder Andrew Symonds during India’s last tour to Australia earlier this year, Harbhajan Singh has stated that he has made mistakes, but he has learnt from it.

DNA India reported:

“Obviously when I play for my country I go out there to win games, I’m not there to make friends,” Harbhajan told ‘Fox Sports’.

“So you’ll expect the same sort of fighting spirit. I am very passionate about my game and I get involved in the game. I want to do everything right and I want to win each and every game for my country. That’s the way I am and that’s never going to change,” he added.

“But I’m not someone like a god. I’m human, people make mistakes. I must have made mistakes and I’m sure I’ve learned from my mistakes,” he added.

Harbhajan Singh thinks that India is a very good team and Australia knows it very well. The off-spinner also feels that Indian team is always a different team at home. Well, I partially agree with him. Yes, Indian team is always stronger at home and hardly loses test series, but Harbhajan must not forget that Australia won test series in India in 2004, even though after a very long time.

There are many who may not be happy to hear Harbhajan’s words that he will not be there to make friends. However, I really appreciate his approach because he sounds like a real professional cricketer. Another thing is that Harbhajan Singh has the positive attitude towards the game and most importantly, he has the killer instinct that is very important for a player in any sports. I still remember his excellent performance in 2001 home series against Australia in which he helped India to clinch a historic series victory. I hope he will repeat that success in the upcoming test series.
