Beijing 2008: Ara Abrahamian Unhappy with Judges’ Decision
Ara Abrahamian won the bronze medal in Olympics 2008 in 84kg greco-roman wrestling. This is something that very few wrestlers can even dream about. Well, Ara Abrahamian is not happy because he felt that he was the victim of a political game and the judges snatches his shot at the gold away with their unfair decisions. So, he became very angry and even tried to confront a judge and in the threw his bronze medal away in protest.
Olympic Games is supposed to be a friendly event. Participation should be more important than winning. Well, this is a cliché and perhaps does not apply to our time. In fact, in this age, winning is the most important thing not losing. If you win then you get not only the honor but sponsorship deals will follow too. However, I think that the matter of Ara Abrahamian is a bit different. He has already got these things.
IOC is going to investigate into the matter and most probably punish Ara Abrahamian. The fans wished that things were different.
