Delhi has become the highest payer in India for the ‘Minimum Wages 2010’

On Monday, Delhi state cabinet has announced 33% hike in minimum wages and this goes on from February 1st this year. According to this act (Minimum Wages Act) an untrained worker will get Rs. 203 per day where it was Rs. 163 per day before. By this improvement in the wages, the worker will now receive Rs. 5272 per month. Semi-trained worker will get Rs. 225 per day and Rs. 5850 per month. A well trained worker will get Rs. 248 per day where he totally receives an amount of Rs. 6448 per month.

There will be a hike in the day by day payment for the non-technical and clerks. Where as the graduates and the above will get Rs. 270 per day and Rs. 7020 per month. By this, Delhi has become the highest payer in India for minimum wages.

Sheila Dikshit, Chief Minister of Delhi, said that it would give the poor some respite amidst burgeoning food prices.

So, it’s a happy news at the starting of the year to all the workers as their minimum wages goes hike.
