The Music of Bachna Ae Haseeno will rock your world
Yash Raj Films (YRF) can be considered as the gold standard of Bollywood movies. The production house made movies like Mohabbatein, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. However, their recent string of movies failed to live up to their reputation. Music of Tashan, Laaga Chunari Mein Daag, Aaja Nachle were not so successful. Bachna Ae Haseeno is the second movie of Ranbir Kapoor, where he teamed up with three gorgeous actresses: Bipasha Basu, Minissha Lamba, and Deepika Padukone. The promotional videos and songs created huge enthusiasm among Hindi music lovers.
Bachna Ae Haseeno is a romantic comedy. It tells the love story of three women: Mahi, Radhika, and Gayatri, who fall for one guy, Raj. The music of the album is done by the famous Vishal Dadlani and Shekhar Ravjiani. The lyrics is written by Anvita Dutt Guptan.
Khuda Jaane:
Singer: KK and Shilpa Rao
The guitar strumming prelude is very soothing and enjoyable. It will raise your expectation about the song and KK and Shilpa Rao live up to that expectation. KK does not sing too many songs but whatever songs he sings keeps the listeners humming for a long time. This is one such song that will leave a long lasting impression in your mind. ‘Khuda Jaane’ is a romantic track and KK’s beautiful rendition reinforces that beautiful romantic feeling and Shilpa Rao compliments the singer. Both of them did a great job. Listening to it, you will feel that the song is here to stay. Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone appeared in the song. Shot in difference exotic locations in Italy, the two real life couple fires up the screen.
Khuda Jaane(revisited):
Singer: KK and Shilpa Rao
Remix: Abhijit Nalani
If you are impressed with the original version, then you will be equally depressed with this one. Why? If you take the romantic feeling out of a romantic song then what happens? Remember Rahul Khanna and Tanushree Dutta’ starrer RaqueebI? ‘Jaane Kaise’ was very enjoyable; the original and the remix version. Same goes for ‘Kya Mujhe Pyaar Hai’ of Woh Lamhe. Unfortunately ‘Khuda Jaane’ is not that type of song. I do not know about you but I would prefer the original version and will not REVISIT AGAIN.
Lucky Boy:
Singer: Sunidhi Chauhan, Hard Kaur and Raja Hassan
Well, you have already seen this song in the movie promo and I think you will agree that the song is more to see than to hear. It can be referred as the item song of the movie. Bipasha Basu showcases her seductive charm to the full. The song is sung by Sunidhi Chauhan, who earlier sang same type of song, ‘Rehem Kare.’ She is the obvious choice for this song. The song is an ideal choice for discotheques. They should have made a remix version of this song.
Aahista Aahista:
Singer: Lucky Ali and Shreya Goshal
You have seen the song, where Minisha Lamba and Ranbeer Kapoor are seen together. The Spanish guitar prelude is good to hear and will make you shake your feet. After a long time, I am hearing Lucky Ali and it feels very good to hear his voice. While listening to it, I felt that I am listening to “Shukriya Meherbani,†the beach song of Vivek Oberoi and Kareena Kapoor in Yuva. This is a romantic song. Shreya Ghoshal and Lucky Ali fits in with the music and mood of the song. Like the Lucky Boy, this song also bears the ‘club number’ stamp all over it.
Jogi Mahi:
Singer: Sukhvinder Singh, Shekhar Ravjiani, and Himani Kapoor
This is probably the marriage song where Ranbir and Minissha Lamba dance together. I am not a big fan of Punjabi Bhangra song but those of you who like to listen to Punjabi song will enjoy it very much. This is a marriage song and a trade mark of Yash Raj Films production. Shekhar Ravijani starts the song and he is followed by Sukhwinder Singh. Himani Kapoor, who sang for Himesh Reshammiya in Dil Diya Hai, Aap Ki Khatir, Good Boy Bad Boy, Fool N Final comes in at the end. Over all, it is a ceremony song and lives upto its expectation with peppy Punjabi lyrics and foot thumping music.
Small Town Girl:
Singer: Shankar Mahadevan
This is a Punjabi rock track. Listening to it, especially, the prelude, you will feel that you are listening to ‘Ticket to Hollywood’ of Jhoom Barabar Jhoom. The man behind the mike is Shankar Mahadevan who also sang the aforementioned song. This is a track which tells how a small town girl can make people dance to her tunes.
Bachna Ae Haseeno:
I just love this song. I listened to it almost ten times. Once you hear it, you can not help but listen to it again and again. This song is the trum card of this album. Vishal Shekhar have proven their talents once again. Bachna Ae Haseeno was one of the all time best creations of Rahul Dev Burman. You will hear the original voice of Kishore Kumar. Vishal Shekhar roped in Kishor Kumar’s son, Sumit Kumar, for this song.
The best thing about this song is that Vishal Shekhar made a flawless fusion of past and present. Upon listening, you will get the same excitement and energetic feeling of the song yet, the interspersed rap and techno bits do not mar the original feeling rather complements and makes it suitable to listen to for the present generation. In one word, if you are not cheered up with the other tracks of the album, after listening to this song, you will feel good that you bought the music album.
Overall, Bachna Ae Haseeno comes up with some good quality tracks but if you are expecting something long lasting, then this is not the material. Except, Khuda Jaane and Bachna Ae Haseeno, the rest of the songs are not so much enjoyable that you will want to listen to them over and over again.
