Irrfan Khan is the hero in Shah Rukh Khan’s Billo Barber
In his upcoming comedy movie, Billo Barber, Shah Rukh Khan is not playing the main character but supporting character. So, who is going to play the central character in Billo Barber? It is another KHAN; the one and only Irrfan khan. Irrfan Khan may not be a mega-star but he is no less a talented actor. He has done a wide range of movies including comedies like Sunday, 7½ Phere, Krazzy 4. Billo Barber is inspired by hit Malayalam movie, Katha Parayumpol, written by Sreenivasan, who worked as Priyadarshan’s assistant. The movie tells the story of friendship.
Irrfan Khan played Billo, the village barber. He and superstar Shah Rukh Khan were school friends. While talking about his experience with Shah Rukh Khan, Irrfan Khan said that Shah Rukh is very humble and polite. He is just like any other co-actor on the set and very much fun to work with. Irrfan Khan and Shah Rukh Khan knew each other since their theatre days in 1986. Every night, after the shooting ended, it was a party time and Shah Rukh Khan taught Irrfan how to play the game of Dumb Charade. Irrfan Khan says:
“He’s a champion at it, I’m a buddhu, and even though I was sloshed, SRK took it upon himself to teach me this game,†recalled Irrfan. “In the beginning, I was an embarrassment, a total disaster, but by the third round I could do it right.â€
While doing his M.A Degree, Irrfan Khan got a scholarship to study at the National School of Drama in New Delhi. At that time, he first saw Shah Rukh Khan with Barry John. Billo Barber is the first movie where the two Khans are working together.
