Madhur Bhandarkar is a famous director but he is not famous for making masala movies but realistic cinema. His movies do not have huge box office success but critical acclaims. His latest movie, Fashion, gives an insight into the fashion and modeling industry and reveals the negative side of fashion industry.
Synopsis:
‘Fashion’ tells the story of Meghna Mathur, a small town girl, who wants to make it big in the modeling industry. Despite being brought up in a conservative family, she dared to dream big. With the aim to become the next fashion icon, she comes to the big city and rises to the top. However, in her quest of fame and glory, she makes many hard choices and they have their consequences. Fashion narrates the journey of Meghna Mathur and reveals the story behind the glamour and fame.
Characters:
Meghna Mathur: She is an ambitious girl and she knows what she wants and how to get it. She also has a high sense of morality and dignity. However, on her way to the top, her morality comes in conflict with her ambition.
Shonali: Shonali Gujral is the most successful model and is the ultimate dream of all the aspiring models. Unfortunately, she is a victim of the glamour world.
Rahul Arora: Rahul Arora is a talented fashion designer and he makes no compromise with his designs and lifestyle. Despite being successful in life, Rahul’s mother is not happy with him and his achievements. She wants him to marry and settle down with his family.
Abhijit Sarin: He is a business tycoon and the owner of the retail giant, Panache.
Maanav: He is an aspiring model. Maanav and Meghna met during their struggling days. They fall in love with each other. Unlike Meghna, Maanav has a strong set of values with which he does not want to compromise. He is the opposite of Meghna who wants the easy road to success.
