Bachna Ae Haseeno: Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor’s off-screen love story

The love affair of model turned actress, Deepika Padukone and actor Ranbir Kapoor, son of Rishi Kapoor is not a secret any more. In the August issue of People magazine, the couple talked openly about their affair.

So how did it all start? Well, the initiator was famous make-up artist, Dorris Godambe. She used to work in both Saawariya and Om Shanti Om. Dorris loved Ranbir very much because Ranbir looked like her son, Suraj and she used to talk about him with every one she knew. In this way, Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor came to know everything about each other before they met in person. This way, the two became interested. It was Dorris who first arranged their phone conversation and they exchanged numbers. Dorris is very proud of them.

Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone first went on a date in July 2007. One day, Ranbir Kapoor asked Deepika Padukone out on a lunch. Unfortunately, the simple lunch went all the way till night. First, Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone went to Celini at Grand Hyatt. According to Deepika, “It was meant to be only lunch; but lunch became coffee; coffee became cheesecake; and cheesecake became movie .”

They watched Mr. Beans Holiday at PVR Cinema in Juhu. The movie was followed by a long drive. This is how everything started but they did not start seeing each other till February 2008. It was love at first sight for Deepika Padukone and Ranbeer Kapoor but they confessed it later.

On their first date, Deepika Padukone was wearing a white Ganji with white linen pants and her hair was tied up in bun. Deepika Padukone could not forget the ugly Timberland shoes Ranbir Kapoor was wearing on their first date. According to Deepika, the shoes were larger than his body structure but they are Ranbir Kapoor’s favorite shoes and he still wears them whenever, she is out of twon. Later, Deepika bought him a pair of golden shoes from Bangkok .

After their first meeting, they regularly met and it was Ranbeer who pursued Deepika. The second round of their love game took place in Sydney , Australia , where they stayed for one month for shooting Bachna Ae Haseeno . Upon returning from the shooting, they started to see each other more and shot the Pepsi commercial.

Though Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor have been seeing each other for a long time, their families were well aware of their relationship and they accepted it very normally. Ranbir Kapoor bought Deepika Padukone a beautiful piano after Deepika Padukone told her that she is very much interested in learning piano and guitar. On the other hand, Deepika Padukone bought her a Mac Book air. Deepika Padukone also buys clothes for Ranbir Kapoor.

Ranbir Kapoor believes that Deepika Padukone has a good voice and she should try singing. Ranbir Kapoor loves Deepika Padukone because she is very positive and whenever, Ranbir Kapoor is with her, he is surrounded by goodness. Deepika Padukone on the other hand, feels that Ranbir Kapoor is a very simple person and a very patient one.

From the beginning, the couple openly went on public. Deepika Padukone even went on to have a tattoo ‘RK,’ the initials of Ranbir Kapoor on the nape of her neck. Pictures of Ranbir Kapoor kissing Deepika Padukone at the airport created major sensation in the media but the couple did not admit it. Ranbir Kapoor said that he gave Deepika Padukone a peck and the media big deal out of it.
