Anil Kapoor plays autistic person in Yuvraaj
In Yuvraaj, Anil Kapoor is going play the character of an autistic person. Depicting the role of a physically challenged person is a big challenge for any actor and there are not many who can successfully do that. In Yuvraaj, Anil Kapoor played the role of Salman Khan’s elder brother. The movie is produced by Subhash Ghai, one of the most talented and successful directors in Bollywood. Mr. Ghai wanted to incorporate a physically-challenged person into his script for a long time. entertainment.oneindia.in reports:Â
Says a source, “Anil plays elder brother to Salman Khan and Zayed Khan. Subhash Ghai had been meaning to incorporate a physically-psychologically challenged character into his script for a long time. It was Anil who told Subhashji the story idea for Yuvvraaj.” Â
Apparently, Raj Kapoor at one time wanted to make a similar film written for him by his long-term collaborator Jainendra Jain.
This is not the first time, Anil Kapoor and Subhash Ghai joined hands. Previously, they made movies like Ram Lakhan. Rumor has it that Yuvraaj is actually inspired from Tom Cruise and Dustin Hoffman starrer Rainman. In Rainman, Dustin Hoffman actually played the autistic brother of Tom Cruise.
In 2005, Rani Mukherjee, played the role of  Michelle McNally, a blind and deaf girl in Black. Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Black is considered to be one of the masterpieces of Indian cinema. In 2003, Hrithik Roshan played the role of an autistic person in Koi..Mil Gaya and won Filmfare Best Actor Award and Filmfare Critics Award for his performance.
