Sunil Gavaskar’s technique was not as good as England’s Geoffrey Boycott’s, that’s what the former England opening batsmen has to say and believes although Dicky Bird his Yorkshire teammate feels Sunil was better.

Boycott who has a heavy reputation for talking straight stated that although Gavaskar’s technique was quite similar to his, he was much better.

Boycott who just wrote a new book Sunil Gavaskar: Cricket’s Little Master’ also states that he believes Sunil was a fantastic batsmen and many comparisons were made between him and Gavaskar over the years as they both were right handed batsmen, they both opened the innings for their respective countries, never gave their wickets away easily.

He also added that even though Gavaskar scored more runs and centuries then Boycott did,  he always considered himself better in technique.

Gavaskar for India played 125 Tests and scored 10,122 runs on the other hand Boycott has 8114 runs from 108 test matches for England.
