After the humiliating batting performance in the first test, Indian batsmen are now ready to bounce back in the second test, starting from 31 July at the Galle International Stadium. Indian captain has already said that India needs to win the second test and his side has enough resilience to come back in the series.

Indian captain has also reminded that in order to bounce back, each and every member of the squad has to play well; not only just the batsmen. Indian batsmen have been fully criticized after their poor batting show in Colombo, as India lost their twenty wickets in just four sessions, letting Sri Lanka win the match by an innings and 239-runs, third worst defeat ever for Indian team.

Kumble also thinks that batsmen have to score as many runs as possible and bowlers have to do their job, while fielders need to ensure they take the catches. Here, it is noteworthy that the performance of Indian bowlers and fielders were also poor in the first test. Sri Lanka scored 600 runs in their only innings, while fielders dropped a number of catches in the first test match. According to the veteran leg spinner, Galle wicket will help the pacers too because, he thinks, there will be swing for the pacers thanks to the condition of the stadium.

However, though Anil Kumble has admitted that toss is an important factor, he does not want to focus on toss now. India lost test series in their previous tour to Sri Lanka in 2000-2001 and now if they fail to win this test, it will be much more difficult for Team India to come back in the series.
