India vs Australia Test Series 2008: India Happy with Andrew Symonds Drop out
Indian cricket team knows it very well that what an in-form Andrew Symonds is capable of doing. However, the all rounder is not touring India in October with Australian team to take part in the four-match test series, starting from 9 October 2008. Symonds has been dropped from Australian squad for the tour on disciplinary ground. There are many Australian who think Symonds is badly needed for the tour as Australia is going to visit India with a pretty young squad.
Well, Indian team feels the opposite. Recently, star batsman Virender Sehwag has said that Indian team is happy as Andrew Symonds will not be there with the Australian team, because he thinks, Symonds has the ability to change the situation of a match any time. Sehwag has stated that the exclusion of Andrew Symonds will be loss for cricket, but Indian team is happy.
Andrew Symonds is not a very popular figure in India. He was abused by Indian fans during Australia’s ODI tour in India last year. Earlier in January during India’s tour to Australia, Symonds took the front seat once again being involved with Indian off spinner Harbhajan Singh in a racism row. Over the last one year, Symonds made the newspaper headline for a number of times for wrong reasons. He was reported to be undisciplined during Australia’s tour to West Indies and recently, he was found in fishing when he was supposed to attend an important team meeting.
