Chandni Chowk to China release postponed
Akshay Kumar’s upcoming movie, Chandni Chowk to China, is not going to be released in Diwali. Due to complicated post production work, the release has been postponed. Neither Nikhil Advani, nor producer Mukesh Talreja could give any specific release date. Starring Deepika Padukone and Akshay Kumar for the first time, Chandni Chowk to China is an expensive movie. The movie was shot in many exclusive locations in China including the “Great Wall of China.†Producer, Mukesh Talreja says:
The problem is being worked upon, but it is a time consuming process. The Prime Focus people are working on it. Plus, a lot of special effects are involved in our film. Our intention is to make a genuinely good film and we don’t want to hurry up just because it’s the Diwali week.
Currently, Akshay Kumar is one of the most bankable actors in Bollywood and many are saying that he is going to replace Shah Rukh Khan. Already, Akshay Kumar’s Singh is Kinng has become the biggest hit of 2008. Released in 1700 screens around the world, the movie made a record collection in its first week. After the success of Singh is Kinng, every body has become very enthusiastic about Chandni Chowk to China. Last year, Shah Rukh Khan ruled the Diwali weekend with his Om Shanti Om. If everything had gone accordingly, then Akshay Kumar and Shah Rukh Khan would have faced each other in the coming Diwali.
