Akshay Kumar’s next movie, Chandni Chowk to China, is special in many ways. First of all, it is Bollywood’s first Kung Fu movie. Second, the movie is based on Akshay Kumar’s real life story. Last but not the least, Deepika Padukone played double role in her career for the second time in this movie. Not only that, inspired by Akshay Kumar, Maxim’s number one hot girl did some serious action sequences in the movie.

In Om Shanti Om, Deepika Padukone played the role of Shantipriya, a heartthrob Bollywood actress in the 70’s and Sandhya, the reincarnated version of Shantipriya. In the first half of  Chandni Chowk to China, Deepika Padukone played the character of a traditional Punjabi girl. In the second half, she plays the character of a beautiful Chinese girl.

“Yes it was extremely challenging. I did take up this film, as I would be doing action for the first time. I must say that doing ‘Chandni Chowk to China’ is very exciting. I wish I could say more about it. But as its release date is yet to be finalized I can’t reveal anything more at this stage.”

Aside from doing double roles for second time, Deepika Padukone did some serious action sequences. In the beginning, director Nikhil Advani was not so sure whether Deepika would be able to do the action sequence but to his surprise Deepika did very well. She did not even took the help of cables. Nikhil was very impressed with her performance in the movie.
