Synopsis: Chandni Chowk to China is an action comedy. It tells the story of an Indian cook, Siddhu Sharma (Akshay Kumar), who hails from Chandni Chowk, mistaken for the reincarnation of an ancient warrior, Liu Sheng.

Earlier, the title of the movie was kept Mera Naam Chin Chin Choo and Made in China. The movie is semi-biographical in nature. Writer Sirdhar Raghvan wrote the story based on Akshay Kumar’s life. In real life, Akshay Kumar aka Rajiv Hari Om Bhatia, was born to a middle class Punjabi family in Amritsar. His father was a government employee. He was raised at Chandni Chowk in Delhi. Akshay Kumar came to be known as a dancer from a very young age. Akshay Kumar studied at Don Bosco School and then went to Khalsa College. Then he went to Bangkok, where he worked as a chef and studied martial arts. Chandni Chowk to China is jointly produced by Warner Bros. R S Entertainment and Orion Pictures.
