Ambani’s deny Liverpool takeover deal

Mukesh Ambani has denied making any bids to takeover stake in Livepool.

The Times
had reported that Mukesh Ambani, the world’s 7th richest person, was
one of two bidders from Asia who were interested in a stake at Anfield.

The report said Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Industries and Sahara Group’s  Subrata Roy had each tendered  bids to pay off Liverpool’s £237 million debts for a 51 % stake.

“There is no truth to the report. We deny it completely,” Reliance spokeswoman Sudeep Purkayastha said.

Ambani is worth $19.5 billion from his investment in Reliance
Industries, a petrochemicals giant, according to Forbes business
magazine.

Ambani owns the Mumbai Indians team in the Indian Premier League.

Sahara’a look to be more interested in Liverpool. Still no one from Saharahave  neither confirm nor deny the bid.

“We are presently not in a position to comment,” Sahara spokesman Abhijit Sarkar said.
