Shweta Kumar, ‘Karzzzz,’ Himesh Reshammiya
On October 17, 2008, Himesh Reshammiya’s second movie, Karzzzz, will be released in theatres. So far, 960 prints of the movie has been distributed by Reliance Big Entertainment. In India, the movie will be released in 800 prints including digital prints. The rest will be released in overseas. Karzzzz has been distributed in both multiplexes and single screen theatres.
Karzzzz is Shweta Kumar’s first movie, Shweta Kumar comes from a family where every one is related to the movie industry. Her father, Indra Kumar is a famous movie producer and director. Before coming into the movies, Shweta Kumar worked with her uncle, Anil Sharma, who was in movie direction. She did a three month acting course in Kishore Namit Kapoor’s acting institute. She also did lots of shows with famous choreographer, Shyamak Davar and assisted Shabina Khan for four years and learned hip-hop.
Interestingly, the first scene of Karzzzz that was shot by Shweta Kumar, was the bikini scene in Johannesburg. It was very cold weather and Shweta Kumar was very much conscious about wearing a swimsuit, but after the camera started rolling, she forgot about everything and focused on her acting.
Shweta Kumar did not have to struggle a lot to make it into Bollywood. While filming Karzzzz, the only stumbling block for her was seeing the original Karz over and over again because she had to understand the character of Tina Munim whose role she played in Karzzzz. Tina Munim’s ‘Tina’ was very bubbly and possessive about Monty. Shweta Kumar had to pick up these minute details of her character.
After working in Karzzzz, Shweta Kumar learned that to survive in the industry one must know how to behave properly with people. A good actor or actress should have good relationship with the people.
You have already heard the song “Ek Haseena Thee” in Karzzzz on Himesh Reshammiya’s voice and if you notice carefully, Himesh Reshammiya did not sing the song in his usual nasal style. Himesh Reshammiya always sing in high octave where his voice goes nasal.

Moreover, Himesh is coming on the big screen after more than a year. I am sure his fans have been longing for this moment’

‘For teenagers, KARZZZZ is an event in itself. I know of people who are really curious to see how the remake has turned out to be. There would hardly be anyone who hasn’t seen the original KARZ. Now as Satishji (Kaushik) reprises the classic, today’s generation would really be looking forward to what’s in store.’

‘I guess coming from a filmy background helps. Yes, I cannot deny though that it is a mixture of each and every emotion. As this is my first movie, I myself have a lot of expectations from the film. I am looking for people’s reaction and let me admit it – I do sometimes get nervous thinking if people don’t like me or my film. Still, I won’t say that I am dying of nervousness.’
