Rani Mukherji has denied to work in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming movie, ‘Chenab Gandhi.’ According to reports, Sanjay Leela Bhansali approached Rani Mukherji to do a cameo in ‘Chenab Gandhi’ but she did not want to do it. Instead, Rani Mukherji wanted to play the role of Vidya Balan, the female lead of the movie. Sanjay Leela Bhansali did not agree with it because it would be unprofessional. Previously, Rani Mukherji did a cameo in Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor starrer, Saawariya.

Rani Mukherji gave her most critically acclaimed performance in ‘Black’ Hindi movie which was directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. News reports say that Rani Mukherji has done it to show her loyalty towards Shah Rukh Khan. During the Diwali weekend last year, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s movie, ‘Saawariya’ and Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone starrer, ‘Om Shanti Om’ were released in theatres. Saawariya did poorly and ‘King Khan’ made fun of the movie which did not go well with Sanjay Leela Bhansali and he lashed out at Shah Rukh Khan.

Rani Mukherji and Shah Rukh Khan starred in some of the most successful movies in Bollywood. Already her relationship turned sour with Shah Rukh Khan and she does not want to make it worse. There was a time, when Rani Mukherji was considered as the most bankable actress in Bollywood but after the failure of ‘Baabul’, ‘Ta Ra Rum Pum’, ‘Laaga Chunari Mein Daag’, ‘Saawariya’ and ‘Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic’ she is in the puddle. Even she is losing her endorsements. Off late, ‘Titan’ dropped her from their ad-campaign. Rani Mukherji is now desperate for a hit movie to turn around her career.
