Shane Bond, star New Zealand cricketer, has said that more New Zealand cricketer will join Indian Cricket League (ICL) next season. The fast bowler claimed that he knew a number of New Zealand cricketers who were not happy with the way they were treated in Indian Premier League (IPL). He also added that he would not be surprised to see a number of current New Zealand cricketers joining ICL next season. Moreover, the New Zealand pacer also said that he would love an ICL-IPL tussle in future. The bowler remains hopeful about the upcoming ICC meeting where ICL will be one of the big agendas.

Howrah reported:

Talking to this paper, Bond said, “I am in constant touch with the New Zealand players. I can tell you that they respect the ICL a lot and I won’t be surprised if many current stars decide to join up for the next season. Many of them were quite left out in the IPL and it would be great if they come over.”

“I would love an ICL-IPL showdown. The fans would definitely enjoy it and it would be money’s worth. As for the ban, it is very ridiculous for the BCCI to put a ban on someone promoting the game. They should lift the ban and try to promote the game together than taking the ICL as a rebel league.

Shane Bond also expressed his joy to see a number of talents in Indain domestic cricket. He is impressed with the likes of Tejinder Pal Singh and Dinesh Mongia. Bond thinks that these players will be improved a lot playing alongside international cricketers. As he has joined ICL, he is now out of New Zealand team, but Shane Bond admitted that he missed playing for New Zealand.
