‘Golmaal Returns’ does not have Sharman Joshi and Rimi Sen
Golmaal was the superhit movie of 2006. The story of Golmaal revolves around four male friends played by: Arshad Warsi, Ajay Devgan, Sharman Joshi and Tusshar Kapoor. Unfortunately, Sharman Joshi is not in Golmaal Returns. According to director Rohit Shetty, Sharman Joshi was replaced in Golmaal Returns due to date clash. The shooting of Golmaal Returns took place in December last year. Accordingly, all the actors and actresses gave their dates; except Sharman Joshi. At that time, Sharman Joshi was supposed to shoot for Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s next project, Dilli6. Rohit Shetty could not stop the shooting. If the date was missed, then it would take a long time to get a schedule from all the other cast. Ajay Devgan will be busy with his directorial debut, U Me Aur Hum. Kareena Kapoor will start shooting for her next project, Tashan. Rohit Shetty was not ready to compromise for one actor. Hence, he had no other option but to take Shreyas Talpade. Interestingly, Sharman Joshi did not work in Dilli6. By the time he returned, it was too late. It would not be a fair thing to take out Shreyas Talpade.
As per Rimi Sen, in Golmaal, Rimi Sen was married to Tusshar Kapoor (Lucky). If Rimi Sen had to be brought in Golmaal Returns, she would have to play the role of Tusshar Kapoor’s wife. However, Golmaal Returns comes with a completely different story from Golmaal. Hence, Rohit Shetty could not bring in Rimi Sen.
