Vidya Malvade has been in the movie industry for quite sometime but she came to lime light for her performance as the captain of the female Indian hockey team in Chak De India. This year, Kidnap Hindi movie is her first movie. In the movie, she played the character of Sanjay Dutt’s divorced wife, Mallika.

Getting the role of Kidnap Hindi movie was quite interesting incident for Vidya Malvade. On her birthday in March 2007, she received a phone call from Sanjay Gadhvi who asked her if she was interested to star opposite Sanjay Dutt in a movie. After reading the script, Vidya Malvade loved it and agreed to do the movie. Today, Vidya Malvade looks at it as a beautiful birthday gift. Vidya Malvade said:

‘I trust Sanjay (Gadhvi) blindly. I’ve known him for a long time. In fact, he’s one of the first few people I met on entering the industry, the other being Ken Ghosh. I’m really proud of KIDNAP.’

This is Vidya Malvade’s first movie with Sanjay Dutt and working with him was a great experience for her. In Chak De India, she worked with Shah Rukh Khan, another super star of Bollywood. Shah Rukh Khan is full of life and energy but Sanjay Dutt is very soft and quiet and gullible person. Vidya Malvade used to call him a ‘gentle giant.’ In the movie, Sanjay Dutt and Vidya Malvade have a song together sung by Adnan Sami.

According to Vidya Malvade, Kidnap Hindi movie is an “engaging edge–of–the–seat drama.” Unfortunately, Vidya Malvade will be in Japan when the movie will be released. This would help her to ease the tension.
