Rock On!!: Abhishek Kapoor is not planning for a sequel for the time being
Do you remember the romantic movie, Uff Yeh Mohabbat, released in 1997? It starred Jitendra’s nephew, Abhishek Kapoor, Twinkle Khanna, and Saddiya Siddqui. The movie bombed at the box office and Abhishek Kapoor’s dream of becoming an actor did not come true but what he could not accomplish in front of the camera, did at the back of it. Yes, his second movie, Rock On!!, as writer and director has become a success.
Now days, it has become a major trend in Bollywood to make sequels of hit movie. For example, we Dhoom, Dhoom2, Koi Mil Gaya, Krrish, and Aap Ka Surroor-The Real Luv Story, and Aap Ka Suroor 2 – Ae Himesh Bhai. Now days, Abhishek Kapoor is getting frequent calls from people asking whether he has plans of making a sequel of Rock On!! At the moment, Abhishek Kapoor’s reply is a big NO!. He said:
“I am in fact not in a mood to think something like that at all. Let the success of the film sink in first; I will think about sequel or my next movie only after a few weeks.”
Abhishek Kapoor, writer and director of Rock On!!, is now basking under the success of the movie. He and the rest of the cast are busy attending various promotional events of the movie. Rock On!! is director Farhan Akhtar’s debut movie as an actor and he was paired up with Prachi Desai who was the protégé of Abhishek Kapoor’s cousin, Ekta Kapoor.
