An enthralling opening ceremony of Beijing Olympic Games will take place on 8 August 2008 at the Beijing National Stadium, titled ‘Bird’s Nest’. In the presence of some sparkling performances by professionals, students, and performers from military, a glittering opening ceremony is waiting out there for the millions of people around the world.

Time of Opening Ceremony of Beijing Olympics Games 2008

The formal opening ceremony will kick off at 8:00 p.m. China Standard Time (CST)/ Beijing Time on Friday. However, there will be a 75-minute long ‘pre-ceremony’ performance based on folk and ethnic art by 28 teams from across the country. The ‘pre-ceremony’ display will continue from 5:45 p.m (CST) to 7:00 p.m. (CST). China Standard Time is eight hours ahead of UTC and GMT. Venue of Opening Ceremony of Beijing Olympics Games 2008

Known as ‘Bird’s Nest’ for its architectural view, the Beijing National Stadium will be the home of the games. The opening as well as the closing ceremonies of Beijing Olympics Games will take place at this gorgeous-looking stadium with seating capacity of 91,000. The main track and field competitions and the football final of the games will also take place at Bird’s Nest. The outer view of the stadium resemblances a bird’s eye.

The construction work for the grass surface stadium was started in December 2003 and completed in March 2008. The stadium has been built thinking of the Beijing Olympics Games.
