Flood and Farm Production in India in 2008
What I find interesting is that these days, Indian media is giving more coverage to agriculture products than outsourcing. Everyday, we can find some news items about inflation, food price, food production etc. Inflation is a big problem for Indian people now. The ordinary people mainly care for the price of food items like rice, wheat, oil, lentil etc. It seems that the flood is creating problem for the farmers. Rice production is supposed to be like last year. Oilseed production may not suffer and even increase some.
India has banned export of some agriculture items to fight against domestic inflation. There is no good news for inflation stats. Indian people have been witnessing records tumbling as far as inflation statistics are concerned.
