Deepika Padukone is the envy of every Bollywood actress. The super model turned actress got the opportunity to work with the top actor of Bollywood. Her first Hindi movie, Om Shanti Om, became the top grossing movie of Bollywood in 2007 and one of the all time top grossing movies of Bollywood. Now, Deepika Padukone is waiting for the release of her third movie, Bachna Ae Haseeno.
Deepika Padukone was born on January 5, 1986 to Prakash Padukone and Ujjala Padukone. Her father, Prakash Padukone, is the most famous badminton player in India. Her mother, Ujjala Padukone, is a travel agaent. In 1980, Prakash Padukone won the Danish and Swedish Open and the All-England titles and went to Copenhagen and there Deepika Padukone was born. When Deepika Padukone was 11 months old, her parents returned to India. Padukone attended Sophia High School in Bangalore and then went to studying Mount Carmel College. She sat for her ICSE exam from Sapphire High School.
In her school days, she used to play badminton and was a state level player. She was a member of her father’s club but she was not interested in following her father’s footsteps and took up modeling instead.
Modeling career:
While studying in college, Deepika Padukone became interested in modeling. Her tall slender figure was a big advantage in the profession. Gradually, she became successful as a model and endorsed many renowned Indian brands including Liril, Dabur Lal powder, Close-up toothpaste and Limca. Deepika Padukone was chosen as the brand ambassador of Maybelline which gave her first exposure as an international model. Deepika Padukone featured in the Kingfisher Calendar for 2006 and received two trophies at the Idea Zee Fashion Awards. Later, Deepika Padukone went on to become the brand ambassador of Kingfisher Airlines. Recently, she became the brand ambassador of Levi Strauss and Tissot SA.

Deepika Padukone also appeared in a music video. She appeared in the music video of the song, Naam Hai Tera, by Himesh Reshammiya. Her debut movie was a Kannada movie, Aishwarya, where she worked with Upendra. In 2007, she made her first Bollywood movie, Om Shanti Om. In the movie, she was paired up with the most successful actor in Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan. Deepika Padukone played double role in the movie. She played the character of Shantipriya, a female superstar of 1970 and then a young woman, who looks like Shantipriya. For her role in the movie, she received Film Fare Awards in Best Female Debut category and got her first nomination in the Film Fare Best Actress category.

On August 15th, Bachna Ae Haseeno, will be released. In this movie, Deepika Padukone played the character of Gayatri, an NRI girl. Her real life lover, Ranbir Kapoor played the male lead in the movie. Chandni Chowk to China, is in post-production stage now. In the movie, Deepika Padukone is doing double role. From her school days, Deepika Padukone started working as a model. She has been working as a model since she was eight years old. At that time, it was a part time job for her but she became interested and pursued modeling after finishing her high school.
